Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need to change my filter regularly?
If the air filters are not replaced regularly, they eventually become clogged so much that air cannot pass through them. Clogged filters and coils prevent the air from heating or cooling. They also damage your heating and air conditioning system and increase your energy bill.
How often should I replace my filters?
For high-quality air filters, experts recommend changing them after every 3-6 months. However, it is essential you regularly clean them once every month. If someone in your home has allergies or asthma, you’ll want to change air filters at least once in a month to ensure indoor air quality is at its best.
How often should I service my air conditioner?
Even if you do not suspect any problems, we advise you to get your air conditioning system serviced at least once a year. Over time dirt and dust accumulates in air filters and condensing coils. As dirt and dust increases, efficiency decreases.
Is there anything I should check prior to calling for service?
Check the fans, motors, blades and blower and that they are working correctly. Check all vents are working and if you have zoning, check to see if zones turn off and on correctly.
How do I know if my A/C unit is big enough?
The first step in finding the right sized air conditioner is to understand their unit of measurement. In Australia, the output of air conditioners is measured in Kilowatts (often expressed as kW). Kilowatts are one thousand watts, which is a measure of energy over time.
Although it might seem that bigger can only be better, that is not the case with modern air conditioners. Instead, air conditioners run optimally when they are sized to the conditions.
